About

Irish born Rebekah lives in the Coromandel in New Zealand where she works from her home studio overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

After graduating with honors from the National College of Art and Design in ceramics she worked as a designer, designing and making hand-built and decorated ceramic children’s nightlights in Dublin.

Traveling has always been the main source of inspiration for her work and in 2006 she took off on a trip to Asia, Australasia and South America. She was hooked by Melbourne’s art scene and after moving in 2008 she was accepted to study a postgraduate course in animation at the Victorian College of Art. This course however was just a little on the pricey side so she instead put her energies into a range of short courses including millinery, shoe-making and glass blowing.

Over the seven years she lived in Melbourne she enjoyed numerous group and solo exhibitions of painting as well as being finalist in the Waterhouse Natural Science Art Prize in 2009 and again in 2014. Her drawings have been published to illustrate editorials, poetry and children’s books.

In July 2015 Rebekah moved to the Coromandel in North Island New Zealand. She has ceramic and illustration work for sale in numerous retail outlets across the peninsula. Please use the contact page to get in touch if you would like to discuss a commission
